One Island: So Many Beaches

You can make a day trip to each one. If you are ambitious, go to two in a day. Take a look below to see recommendations for adults, couples, families, and young kids. When in doubt, go West. The Eastern beaches are convenient, civilized, and calm, but the Western coast is epic, magnificent, and still covered in cafes!

Take a look at your options: they are not few but many. Just like the many memories you will make swimming, suntanning, and enjoying some great Greek food and drink! The question is; can you handle the heat?

Porto Katsiki

This is an iconic beach and one of the most famous in the world. Sure, enjoy it like everyone else during the day but this place pops at sunset and you can lose the crowds! Warning, do NOT go there when the waves are big or wind is strong.

Gialos

This is overall our favorite beach. The sea is usually calmer, the boulders are big enough to stand and jump from, the view is expansive, and the cafe, specifically "Christos' Cafe" , a diamond in the rough.

Kathisma

This is a very lovely beach with a lot of people and amenities. It is great for families that need food, drink, bathrooms, and showers without limit, but the crowd does sometimes feel heavy. Plenty of parking available. Don't neglect to find the cave at the north end of the beach!

Vasiliki Beach

The beach is one of the few with some sand and hotels along with homes line the entire area. The wind picks up like a ritual every afternoon, and water sports become alive!

Egremni

First of all, it's a walk. Not family friendly, but definitely EPIC! Park your car, walk down a paved road and then take the stairs down, down, down to the beach. You can pick what mile of beach you want to call your own until the Tourist boats come by! There is a cafe at the top of the Stairs. Thank God for Frappe!

Lovely spot with fantastic restaurants. Its on the Southeastern side of Lefkada. Get there early for a beach umbrella.

Lovely spot but way to claustrophobic for the space vs number of people. Worth seeing but I need more oxygen when I sun tan!

The beach is great and so are the restaurants and hotels around. What is really nice is that you can rent motorboats, kayaks, etc
